Something funny is going on. More girls are on diets and more girls are overweight than ever before.Let us be frank, many of us have a painful relationship with food.
But not liking your body- and not being able to enjoy food without guilt- takes the fun out of life. You can wind up feeling bad most of the time, and your friends probably do too. Here are six ways to feel good about yourself and your food.

1. Eat only when you're hungry.
Everyday you are faced with temptation. Food is a big part of birthdays , parties , holidays and just hanging out with friends. You go on a diet, and that just makes things worse. You deprive yourself, and ignore your body when it needs some food to satisfy the hungry feeling that just refuses to go away. But let your guard down for one second and suddenly you succumb to the temptation of double scoops strawberry cheesecake ice cream.

2. Yo-yo dieting is not the best.
Sure, the miracle diet of the week can melt away pounds. But within a few months,your weight is right back to where it started , and often goes up from there.Yo-yo dieting is much worse than carrying a few extra pounds. You gain more weight overtime and also gains more fat.

3. Feeling good is the goal to aim for.
Girls get the message that what they look like is more important than how they feel. The trend now is tilting towards healthy feeling than beautiful looks and feeling lowsy. Size and looks certainly does not stop you from pursuing your goals , like being a medical doctor or an accountant.

4.Be familiar with the negative side of eating disorders.
An obsession with food, or not eating food, is bad for you, that is a fact.But underneath the surface ,it may not be about food at all.It is about how about yourself. If you dislike your looks or who you are , losing weight is not going to fix that.
Pay attention to how much time and energy you spend worrying about your size. If food or feeling bad about your body is all you can think about talk to someone you trust ,like your mother , doctor or school counselor.

5.Shut out media looks.
It is difficult to look at a group of gorgeous models and not feel bad about what you see in the mirror.The truth is that if you look closely many models do not look like models either.Computer airbrushing enhances photos so models looj taller , thinner, smooth unblemished skin anr more glamorous. Attempt to take a break from any media - be it magazines or TV programmes that make you take a negative look at your bidy image.

6.Go back yo satisfying your hunger only.....no indiscriminate eating
try to eat when you are hungry only, rather than just eating induscriminately.As we mentioned earlier, it is not easy but eating when you are hungry is possible.Look at reasons you eat. Pencil down what you eat , why you eat, and how you feel afterward.Finding out the reasons why what you eat is an important part of healthy eating because connecting the lines between eating and hunger shows the state of one body.
